| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Hospital Report Card Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 20 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (210 ILCS 86/20)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 20. Orientation and training.
|
| 8 |
| (a) All health care facilities shall have established an |
| 9 |
| orientation process
that
that
provides initial job training and |
| 10 |
| information and assesses the direct care
nursing staff's
|
| 11 |
| ability to fulfill specified responsibilities. |
| 12 |
| (b) Personnel not competent for a given unit shall not be |
| 13 |
| assigned to work
there
without direct supervision until |
| 14 |
| appropriately trained.
|
| 15 |
| (c) Staff training information will be available upon
|
| 16 |
| request, without any information identifying a
patient, |
| 17 |
| employee, or licensed professional
at the hospital.
