| AN ACT concerning State government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Attorney General Act is amended by changing |
5 |
| Section 6 as follows:
|

| Sec. 6. Whenever the
the attorney general is sick or
|
8 |
| absent, or unable to attend, or is interested in any cause or
|
9 |
| proceeding, civil or criminal, which it is or may be his duty |
10 |
| to
prosecute or defend, the court in which said cause or |
11 |
| proceeding is
pending may appoint some competent attorney to |
12 |
| prosecute or defend such
cause or proceeding, and the attorney |
13 |
| so appointed shall have the same
power and authority in |
14 |
| relation to such cause or proceeding as the
attorney general |
15 |
| would have had if present and
attending to the same. |
