| AN ACT concerning health.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Insect Pest and Plant Disease Act is amended |
| 5 |
| by adding Section 35 as follows:
|

| (505 ILCS 90/35 new) |

| Sec. 35. Importation of firewood. Within 9 months after the |
| 8 |
| effective date of this amendatory Act of the 95th General |
| 9 |
| Assembly, the Department of Agriculture shall promulgate rules |
| 10 |
| concerning the control of firewood importation into the State |
| 11 |
| with special attention to controlling the infestation of insect |
| 12 |
| pests, including the emerald ash borer. The Department of |
| 13 |
| Agriculture may collaborate with the Department of Natural |
| 14 |
| Resources to promulgate the rules required under this Section.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 16 |
| becoming law. |
