| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections |
| 5 |
| 10-20.40 and 34-18.34 as follows:
|

| Sec. 10-20.40. Wind farm. A school district may own and |
| 8 |
| operate a wind generation turbine farm, either individually or |
| 9 |
| jointly, that directly or indirectly reduces the energy or |
| 10 |
| other operating costs of the school district.
