Amends the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Container Act. Prohibits an owner of a liquefied petroleum gas container from using the restrictions of the Act for the purposes of retaining customers. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning public safety.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Container Act is |
5 |
| amended by changing Sections 3 and 4 as follows:
|

| (430 ILCS 10/3) (from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 5703)

| Sec. 3. If a liquefied petroleum gas container shall bear |
8 |
| upon the surface
thereof in plainly legible characters the |
9 |
| name, mark, initials or other
identifying device of the owner |
10 |
| thereof, it shall be unlawful for any
person except such owner |
11 |
| or a person authorized in writing by him: (a) To
fill such |
12 |
| container with, or withdraw from such container,
liquefied |
13 |
| petroleum gas or any other gas
or compound; (b) to buy, sell, |
14 |
| offer for sale, give, take, loan, deliver or
permit to be |
15 |
| delivered, or otherwise use, dispose of, or traffic in any
such |
16 |
| container; or (c) to deface, erase, obliterate, cover up or |
17 |
| otherwise
remove or conceal or change any such name, mark, |
18 |
| initials or other
identifying device of the owner or to place |
19 |
| the name, mark, initials or
other identifying device of any |
20 |
| person other than the owner on such
container.

| The restrictions in this Section shall not be used by an |
22 |
| owner of a liquefied petroleum gas container for the purposes |
23 |
| of retaining customers.
