| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to recognize the students, staff, |
| 4 |
| and faculty of Douglas Taylor Elementary School in Chicago on |
| 5 |
| being honored as one of the ten national 2009 Breakthrough |
| 6 |
| Schools by MetLife Foundation and the National Association of |
| 7 |
| Secondary School Principals; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, The school will receive a $5,000 grant and be |
| 9 |
| featured in the National Association of Secondary School |
| 10 |
| Principals magazine, Principal Leadership; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The award recognizes schools that are |
| 12 |
| dramatically improving student achievement while serving large |
| 13 |
| numbers of students living in poverty; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The school principal, Dr. William Truesdale, will |
| 15 |
| participate in the National Association of Secondary School |
| 16 |
| Principals annual convention in February of this year; |
| 17 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| congratulate everyone who has made Douglas Taylor Elementary |
