| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Clara |
| 4 |
| Chapman of Springfield, formerly of Carlyle, who passed away on |
| 5 |
| November 10, 2008; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, She was born July 16, 1900, in Little York to |
| 7 |
| Hattie and John Turner; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her |
| 9 |
| daughter, Nadine McClain; and her son, Nathaniel Killion; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Killion |
| 11 |
| and Aletha Nash; her granddaughter, Claudette Moore; her |
| 12 |
| grandson, Derek (wife, Rosemary) Nash; her brother, Haywood |
| 13 |
| Turner; her four sisters, Helen Lee Franklin, Opal Devoe, Mary |
| 14 |
| Chapman, and Hannah Johnson; her five great-grand-children; |
| 15 |
| her five great-great-grandchildren; several great nieces; a |
| 16 |
| host of great-great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends; |
| 17 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
