HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sharon Wsol on the occasion of her retirement as Library Director of the Orland Park Public Library in September of 2008; and

WHEREAS, Sharon Wsol has served as Library Director of the Orland Park Public Library for 10 years; during her tenure as Library Director, the Orland Park Public Library has been transformed from a medium-sized library to one of the largest public libraries in the Metropolitan System, boasting the fourth largest circulation and serving a population of over 57,000; after passing a referendum on the first attempt with an overwhelming margin, she and her staff embarked on an ambitious building project that resulted in a beautiful building that is viewed by other libraries as an astounding architectural success; and

WHEREAS, Over the course of her incredible career, Sharon Wsol has been active in numerous library organizations and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Metropolitan Library System; and

WHEREAS, A reception in honor of Sharon Wsol and her work at the Orland Park Public Library will be held on September 28, 2008 at the Orland Park Public Library; and

WHEREAS, After retiring, Sharon Wsol plans to spend her free time with her husband, Larry, her grandson, Jack, her sons, Pat and Mike, and their wives, Trisha and Carrie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, we congratulate Sharon Wsol on the occasion of her retirement and wish her many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Sharon Wsol as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
