| WHEREAS, The 2008 Lincoln-Way High School Knights Varsity |

| Softball team completed the 2008 season with a fantastic 33-9 |

| record; and

| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The Knights captured the 2008 Conference, |
| 6 |
| Regional, Sectional, and SuperSectional Championships; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Under the direction of head coach Dick Mandella, |
| 8 |
| the Knights completed the best softball season in Lincoln-Way |
| 9 |
| High School's history; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The Varsity Softball team advanced to the Illinois |
| 11 |
| High School Athletic Association 4A Championship game; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, The entire team demonstrated honorable |
| 13 |
| sportsmanship, dedication, and perseverance in reaching their |
| 14 |
| goal; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The coaching staff, administration, and student |
| 16 |
| body represented the Lincoln-Way community with extraordinary |
| 17 |
| pride and support; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The 2008 Lincoln-Way High School Softball Team, in |

| their first downstate performance in the program's 30-year |

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| congratulate the members of the Lincoln-Way Central Girls |

| Softball team on the occasion of winning the IHSA 4A Softball |

| State Championship and wish them continued success and |

| happiness in the future; and be it further
