| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the Boy |
3 |
| Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of Eagle |
4 |
| Scout; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Austin Coolidge of Boy Scout Troop 73, in |
6 |
| Grayslake, will receive the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of |
7 |
| Honor soon; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young man |
9 |
| must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a |
10 |
| willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in |
11 |
| camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Austin was successful in collecting, sorting, and |
13 |
| donating items for the victims of Hurricane Katrina; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Austin Coolidge has been in scouting since he was |
15 |
| six years of age, and has held the position of Senior Patrol |
16 |
| Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader; and he has served as a camp |
17 |
| counselor at Camp Makajawan; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Austin joins an elite |
19 |
| and honorable fraternity of achievers that counts among its |
20 |
| members an extraordinary number of this nation's great leaders |
