| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bernice Patterson | ||||||
| 4 | Wilson on her retirement as an educator in the East St. Louis | ||||||
| 5 | Public Schools, District #189; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, She has over 40 years of service as an educator in | ||||||
| 7 | the East St. Louis Public School, District #189; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, She has significant commendations for exceptional | ||||||
| 9 | professional performance; the countless honors and | ||||||
| 10 | recognitions from the School District, the State of Illinois, | ||||||
| 11 | your peers, and parents, exemplify the consistency of | ||||||
| 12 | excellence in deliverables; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, She has went beyond the call of duty service, | ||||||
| 14 | including creating and managing awards programs, May Day | ||||||
| 15 | events, cheer leader training, text book review and selection, | ||||||
| 16 | and problem-solving budgeting plans on every level that | ||||||
| 17 | influences quality education; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, She has shown extra-ordinary caring of her | ||||||
| 19 | students well-being inside the classroom and outside while | ||||||
| 20 | touching the lives of their extended families as well; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Her uninterrupted commitment to educate through | ||||||
| 2 | multiple generations who hold the Wilson effect close to their | ||||||
| 3 | hearts, but mostly their character; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Her tenacity to continue her own education and | ||||||
| 5 | skill development in line with trends, new methodologies, and | ||||||
| 6 | technology to keep herself competitive and formidable as an | ||||||
| 7 | educator; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, She has planted seeds of excellence, knowledge, | ||||||
| 9 | and compassion in the minds and character of her students, her | ||||||
| 10 | peers, and supervisors; they have taken root and she will enjoy | ||||||
| 11 | the fruits of her labor for times to come; hers is the model, | ||||||
| 12 | and hers is the template for others to follow for generations | ||||||
| 13 | to come; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Therefore, upon her retirement, as a fellow East | ||||||
| 15 | St. Louisan and product of the East St. Louis Public Schools, | ||||||
| 16 | Representative Washington proudly exalts her for her | ||||||
| 17 | contributions and stands confident that we will all benefit as | ||||||
| 18 | she transitions into her next phase of service; therefore, be | ||||||
| 19 | it

| 20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 21 | NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 22 | congratulate Bernice Patterson Wilson on her retirement and | ||||||

| 1 | wish her the best in her future endeavors; and be it further

| 2 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 3 | presented to Bernice Patterson Wilson as a symbol of our | ||||||
