HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lieutenant Bobby 
4
Guerin of the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department on the occasion 
5
of his retirement; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Lieutenant Bobby Guerin was raised in Waukegan and 
7
graduated from Waukegan High School in 1974; on May 15, 1982, 
8
he married his wife, Kristen, and moved to Zion, where he 
9
remained until he moved to Winthrop Harbor in 2006; together, 
10
Lt. Guerin and his wife have two children, Ross and Allison; 
11
and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Lieutenant Bobby Guerin began his career as a 
13
firefighter with the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department on 
14
December 5, 1977; he was promoted to acting Lieutenant on 
15
September 18, 2002, then to Lieutenant on January 22, 2003, 
16
where he remained until his retirement on May 1, 2008; he was 
17
also active on the pension board since the 1980s; and

    WHEREAS, Lieutenant Bobby Guerin was a certified financial 
19
planner; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, Lieutenant Bobby Guerin was the recipient of the 
21
Zion Exchange Club Firefighter of the Year Award in 1999 in

recognition of his accomplishments; and

 
2
    WHEREAS, Lieutenant Bobby Guerin has been a pitcher for a 
3
men's 12 inch softball team for his entire adult life and has 
4
coached girls softball for many years; he is also a lifetime 
5
league bowler who had a 300 game in 2008; and
 
6
    WHEREAS, Lieutenant Bobby Guerin serves as a model of hard 
7
work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
8
Illinois; therefore, be it

 
9
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
10
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
11
congratulate Lieutenant Bobby Guerin on the occasion of his 
12
retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the 
13
future; and be it further

 
14
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15
presented to Lieutenant Bobby Guerin as a symbol of our esteem 
16
and respect.
