HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Springfield College in Illinois Bulldogs (SCI) men's baseball team on their excellent season; and

WHEREAS, After a hard-fought battle with Longview Community College of Lee's Summit, Missouri, the SCI Bulldogs narrowly lost against the Longview Lakers 4-3 in the title game of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Central District baseball tournament; and

WHEREAS, The SCI Bulldogs played a great season, winning the (Mid-West Athletic) conference and the Region 24 regional conference; in total, the team had seven All-Conference players, four All-Region players, and five academic All-Americans; in addition, SCI head coach Steve Torricelli was named the Mid-West Athletic Conference and Region 24 Coach of the Year; the team finished their season with an outstanding 39-11 record; and

WHEREAS, The players of the Springfield College in Illinois Bulldogs men's baseball team are Michael Reese, David Miller, Jared Zueck, Evan Davidsmeier, Clark Schoonover, Kurt Dudley, Randy Piper, Mike Hurt, Patrick Sheehan, Greg Van Leer, Nick Oehmke, Justin Mason, Lucas Snow, Austin Alaria, Jared Canterbury, Lucas Kesterson, David Marburger, James Long, Matt Miller, Jordan Law, Josh Baker, Clinton Jeffers, Bradley Bauman, Randy Hoelscher, Alex Urbas, and Joel Washko; the team's head coach is Steve Torricelli and the assistant coaches are Jim Torricelli and Mike Fitzgerald; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Springfield College in Illinois Bulldogs men's baseball team on an excellent season and wish the team success in future seasons; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to SCI head coach Steve Torricelli as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
