| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ken |
| 4 |
| Armstrong O'Brien of Joliet, formerly of Frankfort, who passed |
| 5 |
| away on March 2, 2008; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Ken O'Brien was a reporter for the Joliet Herald |
| 7 |
| News, joining the staff in July of 2006; he had formerly been a |
| 8 |
| reporter for the Chicago Tribune; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He was an Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 270; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He had previously been a freelance writer for area |
| 11 |
| newspapers for over 20 years; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, His education beat included area high schools, |
| 13 |
| colleges, and grade schools; he also supervised the "Pulse" |
| 14 |
| column of local political gossip; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong O'Brien was the beloved son of Jim |
| 16 |
| and Carol O'Brien, nee Armstrong; the dearest brother of Karyn |
| 17 |
| (Tobias) Campolattara and Larry (Kristin); and the loving uncle |
| 18 |
| of Matt, Abbey, Katie, and Katelyn; therefore, be it
|
