HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor Robert E. Ryan Sr.,
4 Executive Director of the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland, on
5 his retirement; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Robert Ryan is the voice of the "Ask Your Plumber"
7 program heard on WBBM Radio on Saturday mornings in Chicago; he
8 was a drummer for more than 30 years with the Shannon Rovers
9 Pipe Band, under the watchful eye of his father and the founder
10 of the band, Tommie Ryan; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He graduated from Washburne Trade School in 1968
12 and began a 16-year career at O'Hare International Airport and
13 a five year career with the City of Chicago as an inspector and
14 plan examiner; in 1985, he graduated from Loyola University's
15 Deaconate program; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Since 1991, he has served as the Executive
17 Director of the Plumbing Council of Chicagoland; he is a member
18 of the City of Chicago License Board, the State of Illinois
19 Plumbing Advisory Board, and a director of the American Society
20 of Sanitary Engineers and the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago;

1     WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army from 1964 to
2 1970; he was honorably discharged as an E-5 Sergeant-in-Charge
3 of the motorpool; and
 
4     WHEREAS, He is active in the St. Juliana Parish, where he
5 has served as a Deacon since his ordination in 1985; he has
6 served as a Chaplain for Alexian Brothers Hospital, as Director
7 of the RCIA Parish Program, and as Co-Director of the Ministry
8 of Care Program; and he was the recipient of the St. Phillips
9 the Deacon Award in 1993; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12 congratulate Robert E. Ryan Sr. on his retirement and wish him
13 the best in the future; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to Robert E. Ryan Sr. as a symbol of our respect.
