1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of

3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Steve Wannemacher

4 on the occasion of his retirement as a Commissioner of the

5 Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority; and

6 WHEREAS, Steve Wannemacher began his tenure on the

7 Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority Board in October of 1987;

8 he is one of only two commissioners to serve on the

9 Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority Board for more than 20

10 years; and

11 WHEREAS, During Steve Wannemacher's time on the

12 Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority Board, the airport's

13 traffic has grown from 90,369 passengers in 1988 to 532,075

14 passengers in 2007, a record year for the airport; he also

15 helped bring about the incredible growth of the airport's

16 facilities, such as the increase of air carriers, a $27 million

17 Letter of Intent for airport improvements, and the design,

18 construction, and opening of a new, state-of-the-art terminal

19 campus in 2001, as well as the initiation of daily air cargo

20 flights via DHL; and

21 WHEREAS, Steve Wannemacher was instrumental in the

22 expansion of the Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority Board

1 from five to seven members, ensuring greater representation in

2 matters concerning the airport; and

3 WHEREAS, Due to the efforts and dedication of Steve

4 Wannemacher, the Central Illinois Regional Airport has grown

5 from a small airport into a vital regional transportation

6 facility; therefore, be it

7 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

8 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

9 congratulate Steve Wannemacher on the occasion of his

10 retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the

11 future; and be it further

12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

13 presented to Steve Wannemacher as a symbol of our esteem and

14 respect.
