| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield |
| 3 |
| encompasses 366 acres with more than 100 permanent buildings; |
| 4 |
| and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The Illinois State Fairgrounds is home to the |
| 6 |
| annual Illinois State Fair and also serves as the location of |
| 7 |
| hundreds of educational and entertainment events throughout |
| 8 |
| the year; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Severe deterioration of underground electric |
| 10 |
| cable has caused a massive power outage at the Fairgrounds, |
| 11 |
| resulting in the cancellation of dozens of events; the |
| 12 |
| cancellations will cost the local economy millions of dollars |
| 13 |
| in lost revenues; therefore, be it
|
| 14 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 15 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 16 |
| the Capital Development Board shall provide the General |
| 17 |
| Assembly with maintenance records for the past 6 years for the |
| 18 |
| Fairgrounds; and be it further
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, That the Capital Development Board shall provide |
| 20 |
| an assessment of capital and maintenance needs with respect to |
| 21 |
| the Fairgrounds; and be it further
