| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Frank Chu |
4 |
| Lam (Sonny Red), who passed away on December 29, 2007; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Chu Lam was born on July 16, 1948 in |
6 |
| Chicago; his parents were the late Bob and Carrie Lam; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Chu Lam was educated in the Chicago Public |
8 |
| School System; he attended Hertzl Elementary and Washburn Trade |
9 |
| School; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Chu Lam accepted Christ as his personal |
11 |
| savior at an early age; he later recommitted his life to Christ |
12 |
| at the Price of Peace Baptist Church under the leadership of |
13 |
| Reverend Willie Upshire; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Chu Lam was employed with St. Louis |
15 |
| University, working in the maintenance department for many |
16 |
| years; he also worked at Hammond Organs, where his carpentry |
17 |
| skills were put to good use; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Chu Lam enjoyed fishing and shooting pool; |

| and
|
|

| WHEREAS, Frank Chu Lam was united in holy matrimony to the |

| late Martha Miller and her two children, Helene and the late |
3 |
| Kenny Miller; he later united in holy matrimony to Gwendolyn |
4 |
| Marshall; to this union, one child, Farrah Latrece, was born; |
5 |
| and |
6 |
| WHEREAS, Frank Chu Lam is survived by his daughter, Farrah |
7 |
| (Rodney) English; his sisters, Roberta Riley, Carla (Wayman) |
8 |
| Hubbard, and Yolanda (Marcel) Brown; his grandchildren, Shania |
9 |
| and Rodderius; his nephew; his 3 nieces; his 2 great-nieces; |
10 |
| his very special friend, JoAnn King; and his many other |
11 |
| relatives and friends; therefore, be it
|
12 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
13 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
14 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Frank |
15 |
| Chu Lam; and be it further
|
16 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
17 |
| presented to the family of Frank Chu Lam as an expression of |
18 |
| our sympathy.
