HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the administration 
4
and staff of Prairie Center Health Center, Inc. on the occasion 
5
of the 40th anniversary of the Center; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Prairie Center Health Systems, Inc. (Prairie 
7
Center), has grassroots ties to 3 organizations starting In 
8
1968: The Mustard Seed Club, the Champaign County Council on 
9
Alcoholism, and Gemini House, in Champaign-Urbana; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Prairie Center has expanded substance abuse 
11
services to Ford and Vermilion County; Prairie Center provides 
12
a continuum of substance abuse services from school-based 
13
prevention education, community education, early intervention 
14
counseling, outpatient, DUI services, intensive outpatient, 
15
day treatment, and adult inpatient residential and 
16
detoxification; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Prairie Center is an innovator in serving youth 
18
and adults involved with the criminal justice system, providing 
19
community re-integration housing and support, in-detention 
20
substance abuse services, and treatment alternatives to 
21
incarceration through its Vermilion and Champaign County Drug 
22
Courts; and

    WHEREAS, Prairie Center has been responsive to the needs of 
2
the communities it serves, providing affordable, effective 
3
drug and alcohol education and treatment to over 6,000 
4
residents annually, restoring lives, families, and 
5
communities; therefore, be it

 
6
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8
proclaim February 21, 2008 as Prairie Center Day in the State 
9
of Illinois; and be it further

 
10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to the administration and staff of Prairie Center as 
12
a symbol of our respect.
