HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are saddened to  learn of the death of
Jeff 
4
Pearl of Clinton, who passed away on November 5, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Jeff Pearl served as the fire chief of the Clinton 
6
Fire Department for 4 years; as fire chief, he was responsible 
7
for increasing the amount of training of the department's 
8
firefighters and for procuring new equipment; he formerly 
9
served as assistant fire chief with the Weldon Fire Department; 
10
and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Jeff Pearl also served as vice-chairman of the 
12
DeWitt County Board and was chairman of the Property Committee; 
13
he also served on the CenCom and 911 Boards; he also served as 
14
the last chairman of the board's Nursing Home Committee; as a 
15
board member, he was instrumental in the movement to make 911 
16
address signs mandatory in DeWitt County and the drive to 
17
require Clinton Landfill to have a federal permit for its 
18
chemical waste management services; and

    WHEREAS, Jeff Pearl is survived by his wife, Lori, and his 
20
children, Brandy and Dustin; and

 
21
    WHEREAS, Jeff Pearl will be remembered by all who knew and

loved as a good friend and great guy who always strove to do 
2
what was right for his community; therefore, be it

 
3
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jeff 
6
Pearl; and be it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Jeff Pearl as an expression of our 
9
sympathy.
