HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of U.S. Army
4 Corporal Keith Nurnberg of Genoa City, Wisconsin, who passed
5 away on September 5, 2007 in Iraq; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Cpl. Keith Nurnberg was a native of McHenry,
7 Illinois, residing there until early 2007; he was a 1999
8 graduate of McHenry West High School, where he was a member of
9 the track team; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Cpl. Keith Nurnberg was born on September 23, 1980
11 in Waukegan, Illinois; he was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago
12 White Sox fan; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Cpl. Keith Nurnberg enlisted in the United States
14 Army in 2003 and was serving his second tour of duty in Iraq as
15 a tank gunner with the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd
16 Infantry Division out of Fort Benning, Georgia; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Cpl. Keith Nurnberg continued a family tradition
18 of serving his country in the United States armed forces,
19 following a great grandfather who served in World War I, both
20 of his grandfathers who served in World War II, and his father,
21 Al, who served in the Vietnam War; and

1     WHEREAS, Cpl. Keith Nurnberg was proud of his service as a
2 soldier in the United States Army; and
 
3     WHEREAS, In December 2006, Cpl. Keith Nurnberg married the
4 former Tonya Hopkins, who will give birth to the couple's first
5 child in November 2007, a boy to be named Keith Jr.; therefore,
6 be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of U.S.
10 Army Corporal Keith Nurnberg; and be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of U.S. Army Corporal
12 Keith Nurnberg and his willingness to serve our country with
13 bravery; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of U.S. Army Corporal Keith Nurnberg as
16 an expression of our sympathy.
