HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Normal Community High School Ironmen softball team on the occasion of winning the 2007 AA State Softball Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Normal Community High School Ironmen softball team defeated Barrington in a 1-0 victory with a single home run by Katie Lutes, winning the second State softball title in the team's history; the team finished the season with a 32-7 overall record; and

WHEREAS, Normal Community High School Ironmen player Amber May struck out 51 out of 68 batters during 3 games at the State tournament, breaking the State tournament record for strikeouts; Amber May, Katie Lutes, and Shayla Hoenes were named All Conference Players, and Jordan Menendez and Marla Kindred were given Honorable Mentions; and

WHEREAS, The Normal Community High School Ironmen softball team players are Amber May, Jordan Menendez, Marla Kindred, Megan Holzhauer, Danielle Bentley, Courtney Sharp, Shayla Hoenes, Lisa White, Katie Lutes, Allie Wylder, Robin Golembeski, Kimmy Hassel, Kristin Baldwin, Jessi Smith, Bailey Franklin, Kaitlyn Crane, and Megan Nonnemaker; the team manager is Rachel Fleming; the assistant coaches are Dana Curby, Lisa Cross, and Matthew Murray; and the head coach is Bob Grimes; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Normal Community High School Ironmen softball team on the occasion of winning the 2007 AA State Softball Championship and wish the team continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Normal Community High School Ironmen head coach Bob Grimes as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
