| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Norman Bobins on |
4 |
| the occasion of his retirement as chairman of LaSalle Bank |
5 |
| Corporation; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Norman Bobins earned his bachelor's degree from |
7 |
| the University of Wisconsin in 1964 and his master's degree in |
8 |
| business administration from the University of Chicago in 1967; |
9 |
| and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Norman Bobins worked for the American National |
11 |
| Bank and Trust Company for 14 years, where he was senior vice |
12 |
| president and held various commercial lending positions; he |
13 |
| began working for The Exchange National Bank of Chicago in |
14 |
| April 1981 as its senior executive vice president and chief |
15 |
| lending officer; he remained in his position following the |
16 |
| Exchange National Bank's acquisition by LaSalle Bank |
17 |
| Corporation in 1990, eventually becoming LaSalle Bank |
18 |
| Corporation's chairman; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, Norman Bobins has also held positions with many |
20 |
| other corporate entities; among them, he is a member of the |
21 |
| boards of trustees of the Global Hyatt Corporation, Nicor, |
22 |
| Inc., and the New York Clearing House; he holds directorships |
|

| at RREEF America REIT II, Inc. and Metal Management, Inc.; he |

| is a Non-Executive Chairman of the board of Transco, Inc.; he |

| is a member of the Banker's Club of Chicago, serving most |

| recently as its president; he serves as Treasurer of The |
5 |
| Financial Services Roundtable; he serves on the Civic Committee |
6 |
| of The Commercial Club of Chicago; and he is on the board of |
7 |
| directors of The Economic Club of Chicago; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to his corporate interests, Norman |
9 |
| Bobins is a former Chairman of the Board for the Chicagoland |
10 |
| Chamber of Commerce; he is a member of the executive board of |
11 |
| the Auditorium Theatre Council and the board of directors of |
12 |
| the Terra Foundation for the Arts; he has served as a member of |
13 |
| the Board of Education of the City of Chicago; he is a member |
14 |
| of the board of trustees of WTTW Communications, Inc. and The |
15 |
| Art Institute of Chicago; he is Chairman Emeritus of the |
16 |
| Illinois Business Roundtable; he is a trustee of the University |
17 |
| of Chicago Hospitals; he is a life member of the Council on the |
18 |
| Graduate School of Business at The University of Chicago and |
19 |
| serves on the board of Spertus College; he is a member of the |
20 |
| Trustees Committee of the Chicago Community Forum; and he holds |
21 |
| a directorship with the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith; |
22 |
| and

| WHEREAS, Norman Bobins has been given many awards in |
24 |
| recognition of his service to the community; he was given a |
