| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representative are pleased to recognize Terry Hogan for her 33 |
4 |
| years of service to the Chicago Public Library upon her |
5 |
| retirement in 2007; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Terry Hogan started her career as a library page |
7 |
| at the Chicago Public Library Edgewater branch in 1974; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, After college, Terry Hogan worked as a Library |
9 |
| Associate at the Northtown and Logan Square branches before |
10 |
| returning to Edgewater in 1980; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Terry Hogan received her Masters of Library |
12 |
| Science and has served the Edgewater Branch as a Librarian I |
13 |
| since 1994; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, In her 33 year career, Terry Hogan has been |
15 |
| recognized as a very dedicated professional, known for her |
16 |
| great work ethic and energy, as well as her reference and |
17 |
| listening skills, friendliness, flexibility, and sharp wit; |
18 |
| and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, Terry Hogan was a skilled manager of the Edgewater |
20 |
| branch, coordinating volunteer efforts, helping coordinate the |
|
|

| Friends semiannual book sales, and reaching out to both |

| community members and organizations; and |
3 |
| WHEREAS, As the Edgewater Branch's Friends group liaison, |
4 |
| Terry Hogan provided clear direction and assistance to the |
5 |
| group, especially in helping the group coordinate the Friends' |
6 |
| semiannual book sales; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, As a lifelong resident of Edgewater, Terry Hogan |
8 |
| has been an involved member of the community, always ready to |
9 |
| respond to changes and service needs; she has been especially |
10 |
| committed to outreach to senior citizens; and |
11 |
| WHEREAS, Terry Hogan established a Tuesday book club to |
12 |
| serve the area's seniors and acted as a thoughtful moderator at |
13 |
| these community events; and |
14 |
| WHEREAS, Terry Hogan has been a tremendous asset to the |
15 |
| Chicago Public Library and the Edgewater branch; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, Terry Hogan's dedication to public service and the |
17 |
| education of the community has had positive effects on |
18 |
| community members; her legacy of service will long be |
19 |
| remembered; therefore, be it
|
