HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Ronald S. Wos of Chicago
4 on his retirement; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Ronald Wos was born February 21, 1938 in Chicago's
6 Back of the Yards Neighborhood; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Ronald Wos graduated from St. Joseph's High School
8 in Chicago in 1956; he graduated from Loyola University with a
9 Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1960 and a Master's
10 degree in Urban Planning in 1965; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Ronald Wos served with distinction in the United
12 States Army Reserves from 1961 until 1969, achieving the rank
13 of 1st Lieutenant; he served in an intelligence unit and became
14 proficient in Russian at the Army Language School in Monterey,
15 California; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Ronald Wos married Katherine Ann Royston in 1971;
17 they have one son together, Matthew Joshua Wos, born in 1972;
18 and
 
19     WHEREAS, Ronald Wos worked for the City of Chicago
20 Department of Planning from 1965 until 1986 and for the State

1 of Illinois House Democratic Staff from 1996 until his
2 retirement; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Ronald Wos has had a lifelong love and commitment
4 to the City of Chicago, having worked on many professional and
5 volunteer projects beneficial to improving the quality of life
6 in the City; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Ronald Wos and family moved to Dearborn Park in
8 Chicago's South Loop in 1982; he served as President of the
9 Dearborn Park Community Corporation, promoting family friendly
10 policies working with government officials; as one of the
11 pioneers of the newly developed area, he worked to make it the
12 thriving, dynamic community that it is today; therefore, be it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
15 congratulate Ronald S. Wos on a job well done and wish him
16 nothing but the best for his future; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to Ronald S. Wos as a symbol of our respect and
19 admiration.
