HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of U.S. Army
4 Private First Class Cole Edward Spencer of Gays on April 28,
5 2007, in Salman Pak, Iraq; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Private First Class Cole Edward Spencer was born
7 on October 26, 1985 in Kokomo, Indiana; his parents were Mark
8 Edward and Candice L. (Webb) Spencer; and
 
9     WHEREAS, PFC Cole Edward Spencer attended Windsor schools
10 and Heritage Baptist Academy; upon his entry into the U.S.
11 Army, he was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry
12 Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 3rd Infantry Division,
13 Fort Benning, Georgia; he was deployed to Iraq in March 2007,
14 where he served with Task Force Marne, patrolling southeast of
15 Baghdad; and
 
16     WHEREAS, PFC Cole Edward Spencer was a member of the
17 Calvary Baptist Church in Gays; he was an avid outdoorsman and
18 loved to spend time at the River Farm with his friends and
19 family; and
 
20     WHEREAS, PFC Cole Edward Spencer is survived by his
21 parents, Mark and Candice Spencer; his brother, Brian Spencer;

1 his paternal grandparents, Edd and Wilma Spencer, and Jim and
2 Luwauna Manuel; his maternal grandparents, Wilene Webb and the
3 late Ron Webb; his half sister, Kari Martin; and his fiancée,
4 Amy Purvis; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of U.S.
8 Army Private First Class Cole Edward Spencer; and be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Private First Class
10 Cole Edward Spencer and his willingness to serve our country
11 which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it
12 further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Private First Class Cole Edward
15 Spencer as an expression of our sympathy.
