HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois wish to congratulate Richard Warren McGill on
4 the occasion of his retirement from the Wauconda Fire
5 Department as Deputy Chief; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was born and raised in Wauconda with his two
7 brothers and one sister; his parents are Farrell and Thersa
8 McGill; he met and married his wife Catherine; and they have
9 two lovely daughters, Jamie and Kelly; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He drove for a private ambulance company in
11 Wauconda during the 1960s and 1970s; he became a volunteer fire
12 fighter in 1966; he became one of the Department's first
13 paramedics and one of the Department's first full-time
14 employees; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He served as the Treasurer/Secretary for the
16 Wauconda Fire Department for over 25 years; he is a member of
17 the Lake County Fire Chiefs Association; he is a member of the
18 McHenry County Fire Chiefs Association; he is a member of the
19 Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association; he is a member of the
20 Illinois Fire Chiefs Association; he served on the Board for
21 the Illinois Public Risk Fund for over 25 years; he is a member
22 of the Building Committee; he is a member of the Finance

1 Committee; he was instrumental in assisting the Department to
2 merge with the Fire District; and he coached the girls soccer
3 team for the Wauconda Chiefs; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Richard Warren McGill has had a long
5 and distinguished career in the Wauconda Fire Department from
6 1966 to his retirement as Deputy Chief on May 18, 2007;
7 therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 congratulate Deputy Chief Richard McGill on his retirement from
11 the Wauconda Fire Department and thank him for his many years
12 of service to the citizens of Illinois; and be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to Deputy Chief McGill as an expression of our
15 esteem.
