HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Julie Lichtenberg on being named The Altrusa Club Woman of the Year 2007 by the Altrusa International Club of Elgin, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, The award is given annually to a community woman who is not a member of Altrusa but who exemplifies the Altrusa keys of Amity, Loyalty, Talent, Reciprocity, Unity, Service, and Achievement; and

WHEREAS, Julie Lichtenberg graduated from Elgin Community College's nursing program; she earned a BA in Management and Leadership from Judson College and a MA in Training and Development from Roosevelt University in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Julie Lichtenberg has been on the Nursing Advisory Board at Elgin Community College since 1998; she worked clinically in the Neonatal Intensive Care for 18 years before joining Provena Saint Joseph Hospital as a Community Health Educator in 1998; she currently works as the Director of Educational Services and Service Excellence at Provena Saint Joseph Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Julie Lichtenberg has been an active member of many social service agencies; she was an active member of Elgin Junior Service Board from 1993 to 2001; she volunteered at Well Child Clinic, served in soup kitchens and volunteered in the Elgin Junior Service Board Clothing Center, which provided free clothing for those in need; she was a member of the Elgin Junior Service Board and an Advisory Board Member of Elgin's Centro De Informacion; she was a project leader in a group of seven Elgin Leadership Academy classmates that created "Caroling and Caring", an event that collected new underclothing for area children, families, and individuals in need; she was Allocations Chairperson for Elgin's United Way Youth Allocations Panel; she was a member of the Special Youth Foundation from 1999 to 2004; and she is President of the Fideliter Club in Elgin, the oldest philanthropic organization in Elgin; and

WHEREAS, Julie Lichtenberg and her husband of 27 years, Bill, have three children; and

WHEREAS, Julie Lichtenberg's dedication and kindness toward the underpriviledged of Elgin makes her truly deserving of the Altrusa Club Woman of the Year award; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Julie Lichtenberg on being named The Altrusa Club Woman of the Year 2007 and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Julie Lichtenberg as an expression of our esteem and respect.
