HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The On Broadway Dancers were established in 1988 
3
out of the Broadway Dance Center in Coal City with the hopes of 
4
giving rural young people an equal opportunity in the 
5
performing arts; since their debut in Coal City, On Broadway 
6
Dancers have developed into a sought after company with a solid 
7
reputation for skill and talent; this outstanding dance company 
8
features dancers between the ages of nine and twenty years old; 
9
and

 
10
    WHEREAS, The On Broadway Dancers have performed half-time 
11
shows for the Chicago Bulls, at sporting events at DePaul 
12
University, Illinois State University, Northwestern 
13
University, Loyola University, and Northern Illinois 
14
University; and they have been featured on Bozo's Circus, 
15
WLS-TV Chicago Showcase, CBS Channel 2, and ABC Channel 7's 
16
"Someone You Should Know"; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, On several occasions they have been invited to 
18
perform with the nationally renowned Jesse White Tumblers; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, They have toured and performed overseas four 
20
times, traveling to Italy, Austria, and Switzerland in 2003, 
21
Austria and Germany in 1999, France and Switzerland in 1995, 
22
and the Soviet Union in 1990; and

    WHEREAS, They have been honored twice by the Illinois 
2
General Assembly for their outstanding representation of 
3
America's youth; and

 
4
    WHEREAS, They have performed at "Taste of Chicago" for 
5
eleven years, and they have performed for six years at the 
6
Dance Chicago concert series held annually in November at the 
7
Athenaeum Theatre; and
 
8
    WHEREAS, The members of On Broadway Dancers Senior Company 
9
are Alicia Andrews, Trisha Barnes, Abby Brandolino, Breann 
10
Brewer, Sarah Evans, Emma Frantini, Felicia Gonski, Tara 
11
Halliday, Jaime Martis, Jillyan Morris, Nicole Nelson, 
12
Danielle Shirtino, Lyndsey Thomas, Kimberly Ulivi, Katie 
13
Wills, and Devon Wyss; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, The members of the Junior Company are Annie Brnca, 
15
Hannah Conger, Kayle Jo Coffman, Jenna Dixon, Erica Gregurich, 
16
Brittany Halliday, Emily Halliday, Ella Horton, Kailee Martin, 
17
Jacob Newberry, Katie Peterson, Darian Rath, Kristen Seaward, 
18
Jasmina Thakali, and Ashley Walsh; therefore, be it
 
19
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
21
congratulate the On Broadway Dancers for their hard work and

outstanding performances, their spirit, and their willingness

to give of their talents so others may enjoy them; and be it 
3
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5
presented to the members of the On Broadway Dancers.
