HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives wish to congratulate the thirteen teachers in 
4
Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 who earned 
5
national certification through the National Board for 
6
Professional Teaching Standards; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Achieving certification is voluntary and consists 
8
of a performance-based assessment that takes nearly one year to 
9
complete; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Through the assessment process, teachers document 
11
their subject matter knowledge, provide evidence that they know 
12
how to teach subjects to students effectively, and demonstrate 
13
their ability to manage and measure student learning; and

 

14
    WHEREAS, The teachers who earned national certification 
15
are Theresa Christensen and Katie Kupka from Palatine High 
16
School; Nicole Clement, Dawn Glaser, Frank Goznikar, Anthony 
17
Miller, Maria Mungai, Kevin Palmer, and Lynn Ridge from Fremd 
18
High School; John Braglia and Bruce Hildabrand from Conant High 
19
School; Aaron Phillips from Schaumburg High School; and Mary 
20
Thomas from Hoffman Estates High School; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

congratulate the fine educators from Palatine-Schaumburg High
