| WHEREAS, The recipient of the Joliet Region Chamber of |
| 3 |
| Commerce and Industry's annual "Salute to Accomplishment" |
| 4 |
| award for 2007 is the ExxonMobil Joliet Refinery; the award |
| 5 |
| will be presented at the Chamber's "Salute to Accomplishment" |
| 6 |
| dinner which will be held on February 8, 2007 in the Empress |
| 7 |
| Casino Ballroom; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, ExxonMobil is celebrating its 35th year in the |
| 9 |
| Joliet area and is the 31st recipient of the award; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, ExxonMobil today employs 600 people; at least 50 |
| 11 |
| of their employees were working in 1972, when the plant first |
| 12 |
| began operations; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The Joliet Refinery of ExxonMobil processes |
| 14 |
| 245,000 barrels of crude oil a day into 9 million gallons of |
| 15 |
| clean-burning gasoline and diesel fuel a day; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, In 2006 ExxonMobil gave back to the community with |
| 17 |
| over 4,000 hours of volunteer time given by the employees; the |
| 18 |
| company gave more than $500,000 to educational, charitable, and |
| 19 |
| civic causes in the Joliet area; and in 2006 the company was |
| 20 |
| proud to have an injury-free workplace, an important plus to |
| 21 |
| the men and women who are employed by ExxonMobil; therefore, be |
