Proposes to amend the Executive Article of the Illinois Constitution. Provides that, except in emergency situations, the Governor must reside and be present at the seat of government each day that either or both houses of the General Assembly are in session, excluding purely perfunctory session days. Effective upon being declared adopted.

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |

| SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the |
6 |
| electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general |
7 |
| election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption of |
8 |
| this resolution a proposition to amend Section 1 of Article V |
9 |
| of the Illinois Constitution as follows:

| ARTICLE V

| THE EXECUTIVE
|

| (ILCON Art. V, Sec. 1)

| SECTION 1. OFFICERS
|
14 |
| The Executive Branch shall include a Governor, Lieutenant |
15 |
| Governor,
Attorney General, Secretary of State, Comptroller |
16 |
| and Treasurer elected
by the electors of the State. They shall |
17 |
| keep the public records and
maintain a residence at the seat of |
18 |
| government during their terms of
office. Except in emergency |
19 |
| situations, the Governor must reside and be present at the seat |
20 |
| of government each day that either or both houses of the |
21 |
| General Assembly are in session, excluding purely perfunctory |
22 |
| session days.
