AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 6454

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 6454, by deleting everything after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

“ARTICLE 1

    Section 5.  The following named amounts, or so much thereof as may be necessary, respectively, for the purposes hereinafter named, are appropriated to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Department of Employment Security:

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Grants-In-Aid

Payable from Title III Social Security

 and Employment Service Fund:

  For Grants....................................... 500,000

  For Tort Claims.................................. 715,000

    Total                                        $1,215,000

    Section 10.  The following named amounts, or so much thereof as may be necessary, are appropriated to the Department of Employment Security, for unemployment compensation benefits, other than benefits provided for in Section 3, to Former State Employees as follows:

TRUST FUND UNIT

Grants-In-Aid

Payable from the Road Fund:

  For benefits paid on the basis of wages

    paid for insured work for the Department

    of Transportation............................ 1,900,000

Payable from the Illinois Mathematics

  and Science Academy Income Fund................... 16,700

Payable from Title III Social Security

  and Employment Service Fund.................... 1,734,300

Payable from the General Revenue Fund........... 14,242,700

    Total                                       $17,893,700

ARTICLE 999

Section 999.  Effective Date.  This Act takes effect July 1, 2008.”.
