AN ACT making appropriations.

 

        Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

 

ARTICLE 1

 

    Section 5.  The following named amounts, or so much thereof as may be necessary, are appropriated to the State Board of Education from the General Revenue Fund for the fiscal year that begins July 1, 2008:

  For Special Education, Funding for Children

   Requiring Special Education, per 14-7.02

    of the School Code......................... 335,217,700

  For Special Education, Orphanage Reimbursement

    Per 14-7.03 of the School Code............. 101,800,000

  For Special Education, Personnel

    Reimbursement.............................. 665,518,400

  For Special Education, Private Tuition....... 151,600,000

  For Special Education, Summer School

    Payments per 18-4.3 of the School Code...... 11,000,000

  For Special Education, Transportation

    Reimbursement.............................. 388,500,000

 

    Section 10.  The amount of $3,890,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2009 from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois State Board of Education for all costs associated with the Response to Intervention Initiative.

 

ARTICLE 998

 

    Section 998.  Each of the amounts appropriated in this Act (after all actions by the Governor and the General Assembly) controls over any lower amount appropriated in any other Public Act (after all actions by the Governor and the General Assembly) for the same purpose unless that other Public Act expressly states otherwise.

 

ARTICLE 999

 

Section 999. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2008.
