Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Provides that a Board-certified plastic surgeon shall be the only individuals permitted to perform laser surgeries, Botox injections, or chemical peels on patients. Provides that a Board-certified plastic surgeon may not delegate the performance of the procedures any other other individual. Provides that a violation of the specified provisions that results, directly or indirectly, in the death of a patient is punishable as a Class 1 felony with a minimum prison term of 10 years.

| AN ACT concerning regulation.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by |
5 |
| adding Section 54.8 as follows: |
6 |
| (225 ILCS 60/54.8 new) |
7 |
| Sec. 54.8. Procedures to be conducted by Board-certified |
8 |
| plastic surgeons. |

| (a) For purposes of this Section, "Board-certified plastic |
10 |
| surgeon" means a physician that has been certified by the |
11 |
| American Board of Plastic Surgery. |
12 |
| (b) A Board-certified plastic surgeon shall be the only |
13 |
| individuals permitted to perform laser surgeries, Botox |
14 |
| injections, or chemical peels on patients. The Board-certified |
15 |
| plastic surgeon may not delegate the performance of these |
16 |
| procedures any other other individual. |

| (c) A violation of this Section that results, directly or |
18 |
| indirectly, in the death of a patient is punishable as a Class |
19 |
| 1 felony with a minimum prison term of 10 years.
