| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4221 on page 2, by |

| replacing lines 7 through 11 with the following:

| "(c-1) Any person who rents a motor vehicle to another |
| 5 |
| shall ensure that the person to whom the vehicle is rented is |
| 6 |
| provided with an emergency telephone number to personnel |
| 7 |
| capable of fielding roadside assistance and other customer |
| 8 |
| service inquiries, including the ability to provide the caller |
| 9 |
| with the telephone number of the location from which the |
| 10 |
| vehicle was rented, if requested by the caller. If an owner's |
| 11 |
| manual is not available in the vehicle at the time or the |
| 12 |
| rental, an owner's manual for that vehicle or a similar model |
| 13 |
| shall be accessible by the personnel answering the emergency |
| 14 |
| telephone number for assistance with inquiries about the |
| 15 |
| operation of the vehicle.".
