Creates the Children's Nutritional Health Act. Creates the Commission on the Status of Children's Nutritional Health, consisting of members appointed by the legislative leaders and the Executive Branch. Provides that the purpose of the Commission is to track the status of children's nutritional health and develop ongoing policy initiatives to address issues concerning children's nutritional health. Requires the Commission to report its findings and recommendations each July 1, beginning in 2008. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning health.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the |
5 |
| Children's Nutritional Health Act. |
6 |
| Section 5. Commission on the Status of Children's |
7 |
| Nutritional Health. The Commission on the Status of Children's |
8 |
| Nutritional Health ("the Commission") is created. The |
9 |
| Commission shall consist of the following 12 members: |
10 |
| (1) Four members of the General Assembly, appointed one |
11 |
| each by the President of the Senate, the Minority Leader of |
12 |
| the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, |
13 |
| and the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. |
14 |
| (2) Four members of the general public, appointed one |
15 |
| each by the President of the Senate, the Minority Leader of |
16 |
| the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, |
17 |
| and the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. |

| (3) One representative of the Department of Public |
19 |
| Health, appointed by the Director of Public Health. |
20 |
| (4) One representative of the Department of Human |
21 |
| Services, appointed by the Secretary of Human Services. |
22 |
| (5) One representative of the State Board of Education, |
23 |
| appointed by the State Superintendent of Education. |
