    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing Section 
5
29C-5 as follows:

    Sec. 29C-5. Three Groups of Legislative Districts.

    The
The 59 legislative districts of this State are divided 
10
into 3 groups for
the purpose of establishing the terms of 
11
Senators elected from each group.
The districts in each group 
12
are distributed substantially equally over the
State. The 3 
13
groups shall consist of 20, 20 and 19 legislative districts,

14
respectively, with each group having as its first district 
15
number, one of
the numbers 1, 2 or 3, and shall be comprised of 
16
other district numbers, as
follows:
