AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2207

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2207 by replacing

everything after the enacting clause with the following:

    "Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 
5
24-23.5 as follows:
 
6
    (105 ILCS 5/24-23.5 new)

    Sec. 24-23.5. Teacher subject of report of suspected child 
8
sexual abuse.  If a teacher leaves employment with a school 
9
district where, while employed, the teacher is or has been the 
10
subject of a report of suspected child sexual abuse made by a 
11
mandated reporter under the Abused and Neglected Child 
12
Reporting Act and subsequently applies for employment with 
13
another school district, then the former school district, upon 
14
the request of the superintendent of the school district to 
15
which the teacher has applied, shall notify that district that 
16
the teacher is or was the subject of such a report. If a

teacher is or has been the subject of a report of suspected 
2
child sexual abuse made by a mandated reporter under the Abused 
3
and Neglected Child Reporting Act during his or her employment 
4
with a school district, upon leaving employment with the school 
5
district, the school district must inform the teacher that if 
6
he or she applies for employment with another school district, 
7
the former school district, upon the request of the 
8
superintendent of the school district to which the teacher 
9
applies, shall notify that district that the teacher is or was 
10
the subject of such a report.".
