1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1400

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1400 by replacing | ||||||
3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4 | "Section 5. The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by adding | ||||||
5 | Section 23 as follows: | ||||||
6 | (415 ILCS 120/23 new) | ||||||
7 | Sec. 23. Flexible fuel vehicle notification. | ||||||
8 | (a) Beginning July 1, 2008 and through June 30, 2012, the | ||||||
9 | Secretary of State must notify each owner of a first division | ||||||
10 | licensed motor vehicle that many motor vehicles are capable of | ||||||
11 | using E85 blended fuel. This notice must be included with the | ||||||
12 | motor vehicle sticker renewal form mailed to the owner by the | ||||||
13 | Office of the Secretary of State. | ||||||
14 | (b) The notice must include the following text: | ||||||
15 | To find out if your vehicle may use E85 blended fuel, | ||||||
16 | please contact the manufacturer of your vehicle.
