Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that an insurer authorized to do business in this State may not use a person's ZIP code in underwriting or rating personal insurance, including the determination of premium rates.

| AN ACT concerning insurance.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding |
5 |
| Section 155.42 as follows: |
6 |
| (215 ILCS 5/155.42 new) |
7 |
| Sec. 155.42. ZIP code discrimination prohibited. An |
8 |
| insurer authorized to do business in this State may not use a |
9 |
| person's ZIP code in underwriting or rating personal insurance, |
10 |
| including the determination of premium rates.
