2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 517 on page 2, line | ||||||
3 | 15, after "benefits", by inserting "and exemption from any | ||||||
4 | subsequent recovery by this State of medical assistance | ||||||
5 | provided to the individual"; and

6 | on page 6, after line 14, by inserting the following: | ||||||
7 | "Section 25. Reciprocal agreements with other states. The | ||||||
8 | Department shall enter into reciprocal agreements with other | ||||||
9 | states to extend asset protection to a resident of this State | ||||||
10 | who purchased a long-term care benefit plan in another state | ||||||
11 | that has a substantially similar asset disregard program. | ||||||
12 | Section 30. Discontinuance of program. If the Long-Term | ||||||
13 | Care Partnership Program is discontinued, an individual who | ||||||
14 | purchased an approved plan before the date the program is | ||||||
15 | discontinued remains eligible to receive dollar-for-dollar |
