1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 179

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 179 by replacing | ||||||
3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4 | "Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by | ||||||
5 | changing Section 12-4.4 as follows:
| ||||||
6 | (720 ILCS 5/12-4.4) (from Ch. 38, par. 12-4.4)
| ||||||
7 | Sec. 12-4.4. Aggravated battery of an unborn child. (a) A | ||||||
8 | person who,
in committing battery of an unborn child, | ||||||
9 | intentionally or knowingly causes
great bodily harm, or | ||||||
10 | permanent disability or disfigurement commits
aggravated | ||||||
11 | battery of an unborn child.
| ||||||
12 | (b) Sentence. Aggravated battery of an unborn child is a | ||||||
13 | Class X
2 felony for which the person shall be sentenced to a | ||||||
14 | term of imprisonment of not less than 6 years and not more than | ||||||
15 | 45 years .
