| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 166 by replacing |

| line 26 on page 3 and lines 1 through 7 on page 4 with the |

| following: |

| "(H) Pregnancy;
peace officers and fire fighters. For a |
| 6 |
| public employer to refuse to temporarily transfer a pregnant
|
| 7 |
| female peace officer or pregnant
female fire fighter to a less |
| 8 |
| strenuous or hazardous position for the
duration of her |
| 9 |
| pregnancy if she so requests, with the advice of her
physician, |
| 10 |
| where that transfer can be reasonably accommodated. For the |
| 11 |
| purposes of this subdivision (H), "peace officer" and "fire |
| 12 |
| fighter" have the meanings ascribed to those terms in Section 3 |
| 13 |
| of the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act.".
