Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Counties Code, if and only if House Bill 656 of the 95th General Assembly becomes law. Provides that the County Boards of DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties must report annually to the General Assembly and the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability certain information regarding moneys received from a retailers' occupation tax and a service occupation tax imposed by the Regional Transportation Authority. Effective immediately.

Amends the Downstate Public Transportation Act, the Metropolitan Transit Authority Act, the Local Mass Transit District Act, and the Regional Transportation Authority Act. Provides that all fixed route transportation services provided by local mass transit districts and service boards of the Regional Transportation Authority must be provided without charge to all disabled persons who meet circuit breaker income eligibility limitations. Requires the Department on Aging to provide information to the districts and boards concerning eligibility.

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the engrossed bill with changes. Further amends the Downstate Public Transportation Act and the Regional Transportation Authority Act. Provides limitations on the annual budget and two-year financial plan of the Authority regarding the fares charged for paratransit services. Amends the Illinois Pension Code in relation to Chicago Transportation Authority retiree health care benefits. Amends the Counties Code, if and only if House Bill 656 of the 95th General Assembly becomes law.
