Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois and the State Finance Act. Creates the Airport Improvement Fund as a special fund in the State treasury. Provides that, from moneys appropriated from the Fund, the Department of Transportation must make grants to airport authorities in the State for airport improvement projects that do not qualify for federal funding. Effective immediately.

 Passage of this legislation will cause no fiscal impact to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the General Obligation Bond Act. Increases bond authorization as follows: $240,000,000 for roads and bridges statewide for matching federal SAFETEA-LU funding and $1,553,870,000 for rail and mass transit facilities statewide. Effective immediately.
