Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Restores the provisions of current law that a person who knowingly and willfully violates provisions concerning mandated reporting of suspected child abuse or neglect is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor (instead of a Class 4 felony) for a first violation and a Class 4 (instead of Class 3) felony for a second or subsequent violation.

In amendatory provisions naming members of a school board or the Chicago Board of Education or the governing body of a private school as mandated reporters of suspected child abuse or neglect, adds a provision that such persons are mandated reporters only to the extent required in accordance with other provisions expressly concerning the duty of school board members to report suspected child abuse if such an allegation is raised to a school board member during the course of a school board meeting.
