Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides for the issuance of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome license plates. Provides that in addition to the appropriate registration fees, an applicant for the special plate shall be charged an original issuance fee of $45 and a fee of $32 for each renewal. Provides that the additional original issuance fee and the renewal fee shall be deposited into the Secretary of State Special License Plate Fund.

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. If and only if House Bill 656 of the 95th General Assembly becomes law: (1) Amends the Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons Property Tax Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act to change administration of the Act from the Department of Revenue to the Department on Aging, to change the income eligibility limitation for pharmaceutical assistance to the same limitation that otherwise applies under the Act, to create a program to provide free public transportation to those eligible under the Act, and to require annual statistical reports on the utilization of this program and also on the utilization of all benefits provided under the Act and annual statistical reports estimating future utilization of all benefits provided under this Act. (2) Amends the Downstate Public Transportation Act, the Local Mass Transit District Act, and the Regional Transportation Authority Act to require free public transportation to eligible beneficiaries under the Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons Property Tax Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act. (3) Repeals certain Sections related to free public transportation that were added by the amendatory veto. (4) Provides that the County Boards of DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties must report annually to the General Assembly, the Regional Transportation Authority, and the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability certain information regarding moneys received from a retailers' occupation tax and a service occupation tax imposed by the Regional Transportation Authority. Effective immediately.
