Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Makes a technical change in a Section creating the Department on Aging.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
20 ILCS 105/4
Adds reference to:
20 ILCS 1305/10-32 new

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Department of Human Services Act. Creates the Task Force on the Condition of African American Men in Illinois within the Department. Provides for the appointment of members by the legislative leaders. Directors or Secretaries of various State agencies or boards are also members. Provides that the purposes of the Task Force are as follows: to determine the causal factors for the condition of African American men; to inventory State programs and initiatives that serve to improve the condition of African American men; to identify gaps in services to African American men; and to develop strategies to reduce duplication of services and to maximize coordination between State agencies, providers, and educational institutions, including developing benchmarks to measure progress. Requires the Task Force to report its findings and recommendations by December 31, 2008. Effective immediately.
