Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Environmental Protection Act. Provides that the annual fee applicable to discharges under an NPDES permit for mines producing coal is $1,000 (now, $5,000). Effective July 1, 2007.

Fiscal Note (Illinois Environmental Protection Agency)
Passage of SB 569 would result in a loss of $440,000.00 per year to the Illinois EPA. This is roughly equivalent to the cost of 4 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees necessary to administer the permit issuance and compliance assurance elements of the Agency's federally-mandated NPDES program.
